Now Auditioning: Barefoot in the Park

Barefoot in the Park is a comedy by Neil Simon that revolves around the lives and dynamics of newlyweds Corie and Paul Bratter as they navigate the challenges of married life in a small New York City apartment. The story begins with Corie eagerly exploring their new but chilly and poorly maintained living space, which sets the stage for the contrasting personalities of the couple—Corie, a free-spirited and adventurous individual, and Paul, a more reserved and practical lawyer.
The play showcases the couple's struggles with communication, expectations, and the realities of marriage. Their relationship is further complicated by the presence of Corie's mother, who is encouraged to seek love and excitement in her own life. With its relatable characters and situations, the play has become a classic representation of Neil Simon's style, blending everyday life with comedy and emotional depth.
